Mater Dei, Senior
Basketball/Forward
Gondringer missed her first four shots Saturday in the state Division I title game with San Jose Archbishop Mitty, but Mater Dei Coach Mary Hauser said she never considered telling her to stop. “She just kept shooting. We never even mentioned it to her,” Hauser said. “We just thought, ‘Well, she’ll come out of it sooner or later.’ ” Gondringer came out of it and then some. She made her next nine shots, six of them during Mater Dei’s 36-6 run that put away Archbishop Mitty. Gondringer finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
