LANCASTER — An armed-robbery suspect who escaped from sheriff’s deputies after being arrested last week was found at a Palmdale motel early Sunday, a sheriff’s official said.
Nicholas Davis, 30, was arrested Thursday but before being booked was taken to the Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment of respiratory problems, said Sgt. Don Anthony of the Antelope Valley sheriff’s station.
Once at the hospital, Davis eluded deputies and escaped, Anthony said.
Lt. Ed Devork said deputies responded to a tip that Davis was hiding out at the E-Z Motel on Palmdale Boulevard near the Antelope Valley Freeway.
Authorities arrested Davis at the motel at about 1:30 a.m.
“We set up and waited four hours,” Devork said. “It’s just one of those things that worked out.”
