Community Group Honors Volunteers

Sunland-Tujunga’s Community Action Network will honor this year’s Hall of Fame awards winners at a June 29 luncheon at Chef Wolfgang’s European Country Kitchen in Tujunga.
This year’s recipients are:
Senior Hero Burnice Carter, president of the Sunland Women’s Club and a volunteer for organizations including the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Town Hero Margaret David, a volunteer at the Golden State Community Health Center who helped found the nationwide Candy Striper hospital volunteer program, who is also a former columnist for the San Fernando Sun and the Sunland-Tujunga Record-Ledger.
Youth Hero Frank Reed, a seventh-grader at Mt. Gleason Junior High School in Sunland, where he was president of his class and volunteers in school functions.
