Other Colleges Can Learn From Cerritos

Finally, Spanish speakers have found a college where they can go without knowing any other language and learn a career with technical skills that eventually will bring them a good quality job [“Bilingual Job Training Is Molding Opportunities,” July 27].
Cerritos College in Norwalk is doing a great job because not only do they teach different skills but the college takes an unusual approach by pairing technical course work in Spanish with simultaneous instruction in vocational English.
This is a great idea because Spanish speakers can look forward to a future promotion and a better paying job. I just hope that in the long run other colleges will start to follow what Cerritos College is doing.
