Study to Consider Wall for Santa Clara Avenue
- Share via
Ventura County supervisors moved forward with conceptual plans to build a sound wall and frontage road off of busy Santa Clara Avenue to shield Nyeland Acres residents from traffic noise and pollution.
There is no money available to make the improvements, but supervisors gave approval for an environmental study. Final approval would come after that study is completed and financing is identified, officials said.
Supervisors backed off from a county proposal to widen a 2.8-mile stretch of Santa Clara Avenue from two lanes to four after neighbors complained. Minor improvements to road shoulders and intersections are also scheduled.
