Convenience Store Clerk Beaten, Robbed

A 7-Eleven clerk was beaten early Wednesday by three men who took his wallet, a cell phone and money from the cash register, authorities said.
Harpreet Singh, 33, of Winnetka was attacked shortly after 3 a.m. in the convenience store in the 1900 block of Sequoia Avenue, police said.
Singh told detectives he was stocking shelves when three men walked in, and he was struck on the head with a hard object. Singh briefly lost consciousness.
The robbers, one of whom had a gun in his waistband, fled on foot. Singh was treated for cuts and bruises at a hospital and released.
