* Duke vs. Missouri: The Blue Devils tied an East Regional record with 18 three-point baskets in a 95-52 rout of Monmouth. Point guard Jason Williams made six of those, pushing his season total to a school-record 116. The victory was Duke’s 30th of the season. “They’re the best team in America right now,” Missouri forward Kareem Rush said. “It will be a challenge for us, but we’re not intimidated at all. We’re just going to go out and play our game.” The Tigers spread the ball around in their 70-68 victory over Georgia, with five players scoring in double figures. They blocked five shots, giving them a school-record 130 for the season. It was the first time Missouri has won an opening-round game since 1995, when it beat Indiana by five.
