Doctors, Orthodontist Get Prison for Tax Fraud
- Share via
Two Mount Shasta doctors and an orthodontist from Yreka have been sent to prison for a tax fraud scheme that funneled money through offshore banks to hide it from the Internal Revenue Service.
Richard Shearer, Daniel Bullock and Richard Pfeiffer were also ordered to pay thousands of dollars in back taxes, penalties and interest, said an announcement from the U.S. attorney’s office.
The three men pleaded guilty late last year.
Each will now spend 18 to 27 months in prison.
Federal prosecutors said the tax fraud began in 1996 and did not end until the men were indicted.
