From Times Staff Reports
Ventura County firefighters will conduct several small controlled burns on a Thousand Oaks hillside over the next few weeks to clear dry vegetation.
The low-intensity hazard-reduction burns will take place Tuesday through July 4 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Signs will be posted to notify residents.
The burns will be done to clear the so-called Fireworks Hill area that could pose a fire danger during holiday festivities, fire officials said.
Nearby streets include Hillcrest and St. Charles drives, McCloud Avenue and Wilbur Road.
