Stolen Bus Catches Fire, Crashes; Boy Badly Hurt

A man stole an empty tour bus at the Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park in Austell but forgot to release the air brakes before driving off. The bus then caught fire before it crashed into a large sign at a crowded Wal-Mart parking lot, police said.

The sign fell on a 7-year-old boy, breaking his leg and causing head injuries. He was in critical condition.

Terry Louis McCrary, 44, was taken to a hospital for a minor leg injury. He was arrested and charged with theft, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an injury accident and serious injury by vehicle.
