Pilot Hurt as Plane Crashes Near House

A pilot was the only one hurt Sunday when a single-engine plane took down power lines near Torrance airport and crashed in the front yard of a Lomita house, a fire dispatcher said.
He said the crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. in the 25300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The pilot, who was not identified by officials, was taken by paramedics to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
