Portland (6-2) at Long Beach State (1-4), 7 p.m. -- Long Beach Coach Larry Reynolds has made changes in his starting lineup hoping to jump-start his team. Keion Kindred is in at point guard over Kevin Houston; Jibril Hodges is back in place of Louis Darby; Sam Byrd is expected to get his second consecutive start at center. “I’m just trying to look for the right combination,” Reynolds said. Portland, coached by former UCLA player Michael Holton, has won six of seven since a season-opening loss to Northwestern. Senior point guard Pooh Jeter, averaging 17.5 points, is the Pilot leader. Fans who bring an unwrapped toy to the game will be admitted free.
