Honeywell Offers $1.7 Billion for Novar

Aerospace and high-tech manufacturer Honeywell International Inc. has agreed to buy British industrial holding company Novar for about $1.7 billion, the companies said.
Novar has interests in electronics, aluminum extrusion and checkbook printing.
Honeywell shares rose $1.14 to $36.45 on the NYSE.
