Re “Girl Arrested for Toting Scissors,” Dec. 12: What kind of sadistic fool handcuffs a 10-year-old girl at school and takes her to a police station in a police wagon?
How simple it would have been for the teacher to take the scissors, explain to the child that it was against the rules and why, and have the mother pick up the scissors from the office. Isn’t a child entitled to at least one innocent mistake?
