Dallas 3, at N.Y. Islanders 2 (OT): Mike Modano scored his second goal of the game 35 seconds into overtime and the Stars won their sixth in a row, outscoring opponents, 20-7, during the streak.
Boston 6, at Philadelphia 3: Glen Murray scored two goals and Marc Savard had a goal and three assists. Rookie goaltender Tuukka Rask improved to 2-0.
Buffalo 3, at Washington 1: Jochen Hecht had two goals to lead the Sabres to their fifth straight win. Washington had won two in a row since Bruce Boudreau took over as interim coach.
at Edmonton 3, Columbus 1: Andrew Cogliano scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period and Dwayne Roloson stopped 36 shots for the Oilers.
