LAPD officers fatally shoot armed man in Boyle Heights

Los Angeles police Monday night shot and killed a man who they said pointed a gun at them when they tried to stop him.
No officers were injured in the incident, which was reported shortly before midnight near the intersection of South Gless and East 3rd streets in Boyle Heights.
Officers were on patrol in the area when they spotted a known gang member in the area carrying a revolver, an LAPD official said.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, the suspect was riding a bicycle, then pointed the gun at police. The officers fired, killing him.
It was not immediately known how many shots were fired.
The incident is being investigated by the LAPD’s force investigation division.
