Boys’ basketball: Beverly Hills gets 9 p.m. start for its championship game

It’s going to be a late Friday night for basketball fans of Beverly Hills and Corona del Mar.
Their Southern Section 3A championship game has been scheduled for Friday night at 9 o’clock at Azusa Pacific. It’s the third championship game of the night.
Campbell Hall will play Maranatha in the 4A final at 5 p.m., followed by Crespi-Mission Prep at 7 p.m.
Southern Section spokesman Thom Simmons said the late starting time is a result of the section not wanting to start at 3 p.m. over concerns parents might not be able to attend games because of work commitments.
