Boys’ basketball: Mike Krkeyan’s three lifts Crespi past Notre Dame

Rivalry games create the opportunity for student heroes, and Mike Krkeyan of Encino Crespi had his night to remember on Friday, making a three-pointer with two seconds left to give the Celts a 50-47 victory over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in a Mission League game.

It was the third consecutive road victory this week for the Celts, who received 15 points and 11 rebounds from De’Anthony Melton. Chaminade defeated Harvard-Westlake, 64-56, in the final home game for retiring Harvard-Westlake Coach Greg Hilliard. Jake Porath had 25 points and 17 rebounds and Michael Oguine had 20 points. Loyola defeated St. Francis, 53-45. Josh Lavergne had 15 points.

In the Baseline League, Jeremy Hemsley scored 28 points and Malik Fitts added 21 to help Damien rally for a 69-64 overtime win over Chino Hills, which played without LiAngelo Ball (ankle injury). Etiwanda defeated Rancho Cucamonga, 74-45.

In the Ocean League, Beverly Hills defeated Lawndale, 63-58, in overtime. Arizona-bound Chance Comanche had 29 points and 17 rebounds. Santa Monica defeated Culver City, 51-26.

In the Nike Extravaganza, Deveral Ramsey had 21 points and Cody Riley 18 but Sierra Canyon fell to unbeaten Virginia Oak Hill, 64-60. Bennie Boatwright had 22 points in Village Christian’s 67-59 win over Santa Margarita. Mater Dei defeated Colony, 62-40. La’Vette Parker had 18 points.

In the Del Rey League, Jacob Davison scored 27 points as Cantwell-Sacred Heart knocked off Cathedral, 72-66, in overtime. Gligorije Rakocevic had 16 points and nine rebounds. UCLA commit Kobe Paras had 35 points for Cathedral.

Oak Park defeated Simi Valley, 77-60. Riley Battin contributed 27 points and 13 rebounds. Michael Alvarez added 20 points.

In the Foothill League, Hart defeated Saugus, 77-63. Myles Franklin had 22 points.

Redondo defeated Peninsula, 63-38. Ryse Williams had 18 points.

Jake Todey scored 17 points in St. Bonaventure’s 62-49 win over Nordhoff.

Santa Barbara clinched its third consecutive Channel League championship with a 59-47 win over Ventura.

San Marino defeated Blair, 50-37.

Foothill knocked off Anaheim Canyon, 73-57, behind Eric Patton, who scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds. Foothill clinched at least a share of the Crestview League title.

La Mirada ended Mayfair’s seven-year reign as Suburban League champs with a 71-58 win despite 37 points from Kendall Small. Kendall Lauderdale had 25 points for La Mirada.

Maranatha defeated Valley Christian, 82-70. Tyler Dorsey scored 35 points.

Firebaugh defeated Flintridge Prep, 61-53. Jake Althouse had 22 points for Flintridge Prep.
