TRAVEL ON: Despite the recession and financially troubled airline industry, many of Orange County’s 1,100 travel agencies say people are still traveling during this traditionally slow season. But it is more for business than pleasure. . . . January is typically “a slump month” for leisure trips because discretionary income is down after Christmas, but business travel is up after the holiday lull. Thomas Nulty, owner of Associated Travel Management of Santa Ana, says: “Things appear to be better in Orange County.” His barometer? “How difficult it is to park at John Wayne Airport. The last few weeks, I’ve had to park farther than I’ve ever had to before.”
