Swing Band to Start Free Concert Series

The city’s annual summer concerts in the park will begin today with the Eddie Reed Swing Band playing music from the 1930s to the 1950s.
The free concerts will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays through Aug. 1 at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center, 16400 Brookhurst St.
Concert-goers may bring picnic dinners, lawn chairs and blankets.
Subsequent concerts will feature country and western band Free Reign, on July 18; Pandemonium Steel Drum playing Caribbean and contemporary American music, on July 25; and Instant Replay, a 1950s and ‘60s rock band, on Aug. 1.
