‘Perfect California’ Inventors Will Hold First Conference

You know the slogan. Now attend the conference.

The Orange County Tourism Council--the folks who dubbed Orange County “The Perfect California”--will hold its first tourism conference on May 28 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.

The gathering will focus on strengthening the image of Orange County, building cooperation among area tourism businesses and improving the quality of service to visitors.

“Our goal is to market the county as a regional destination,” said Bruce Brown, director of the tourism council. “We’re gathering to show that we’re unified to make that happen.”

Featured speaker for the event will be Jane Maas, creator of the “I (Heart) New York” campaign, arguably the most successful tourism slogan in the industry’s history. Other speakers will include Paul Pressler, president of the Disneyland Resort, and Jerry O’Connell, president of Pacific Coast Sightseeing Grayline of Anaheim.

Tickets for the conference are $40 and include an evening reception and trip to Disneyland to view the new Light Magic parade.
