Buddy Hackett to Lead Strawberry Parade

Comedian Buddy Hackett will be grand marshall for the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival’s 40th anniversary parade, part of the May 22-25 festivities at the Village Green on Euclid Avenue.
On opening day, actor Billy Barty will again host the Tiny Tot King and Queen contest at 4 p.m. What’s touted as the largest strawberry shortcake ever assembled will be cut at 6 p.m.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. May 23 and feature an assortment of local groups and celebrities.
The festival, with more than 100 games, rides and booths, will run from 1 to 10 p.m. May 22, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 23 and 24, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 25.
Admission is free; proceeds from booths benefit more than 150 local charities.
