Re “Like a Bomb,” Valley Newswatch, May 25.
Please be advised that the photo caption of Capt. [Dean] Carriger is in error when it says he is standing in “ryegrass.” He is standing on plain old oats, over 4 feet tall. If only this were native ryegrass, the fire danger would be significantly less than the highly flammable exotic depicted.
