Fiji or bust

While a theater in Fiji shows movies for free (“Showing Free Movies in Fiji: Is He an Ugly American?” Dec. 8), I had to pass on paying $14 for “To End All Wars” at the ArcLight, Hollywood. After spending the entire 2003 entertainment budget of my one-income household on two tickets for Peter Gabriel’s concert ($94.50), I couldn’t justify having to cheat on my taxes to be able to watch a movie about humanity, dignity and forgiveness. Indeed, the path to salvation is not easy -- nor cheap. Instead, I had to content myself with “Men in Black II” on DVD ($2.70). With free movies and great sunsets, Fiji is beginning to sound interesting. Now to get there ... is that the 110 to the 101 to the 405?
