Lane of South Coast Highway to be closed

One lane of South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach from Hinkle Place south to Montage Resort Drive will be closed for six hours each day from May 2 to 5 so Southern California Gas Co. crews can connect a residential gas line to a main line.
The southbound lane closest to the sidewalk will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. these days. Workers will have to cut into parts of the sidewalk and shoulder of the road to connect a line from a residence on Blue Lagoon, said Christina Templeton, city engineer and interim public works director.
