Deal: Vintage style and savings at Koreatown’s Hotel Normandie

Chalk one up for another L.A. landmark building turned hotel. The Hotel Normandie in Koreatown at the corner of 6th Street and Normandie Avenue has come together nicely since its recent opening.

It has 94 rooms in a stylish 1920s building and added dining options of chef Gary Menes’ Le Comptoir and an update of the L.A. traditional hamburger joint Cassell’s. Restaurateur Cedd Moses contributed the Normandie Club.

The deal: Hotel Normandie has a number of deals if you want to try out the newly renovated boutique hotel.

It has advance purchase prices that deeply discount best available rates and a Pick Your Pleasure price that gives you a $20 credit at Cassell’s or free valet parking.

Rooms come with free Wi-Fi and workout time at the Wilfit SportsClub around the corner. One caveat: street parking is notoriously difficult, so either bite the bullet and go with the valet parking or take the Metro Purple Line to Normandie Avenue

When: The offers are good through the end of the year.

Tested: I checked room prices for March 13 to 15 and found a room with a king-sized bed for $187 on the advance purchase rate instead of $249 (prices exclude taxes).

Of course advance purchase requires you to pay in full and doesn’t allow changes or cancellations; you’re out the money if you don’t go.

I also found a Pick Your Pleasure king-sized room for the same nights (I selected the free parking) that cost $249, which saves you $32 each night on parking.
