Metal bands Queensrÿche and Dokken rock out downtown

Heavy metal fans, rejoice. Rockers Queensrÿche and Dokken take over the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Saturday, Aug. 29, for a show that promises big hair and ripping guitar riffs.

Progressive heavy metal rockers Queensrÿche sold more than 30 million albums during their 30-year career.

Critics compare their 1988 concept album “Operation: Mindcrime” to Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” or The Who’s “Tommy” with a storyline that follows a drug addict who assassinates political leaders as part of an underground movement. That rock opera produced hits including “Eyes of a Stranger” and “I Don’t Believe in Love.”
