Reporting from Las Vegas — Heavy metal fans, rejoice. Rockers Queensrÿche and Dokken take over the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Saturday, Aug. 29, for a show that promises big hair and ripping guitar riffs.
Progressive heavy metal rockers Queensrÿche sold more than 30 million albums during their 30-year career.
Critics compare their 1988 concept album “Operation: Mindcrime” to Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” or The Who’s “Tommy” with a storyline that follows a drug addict who assassinates political leaders as part of an underground movement. That rock opera produced hits including “Eyes of a Stranger” and “I Don’t Believe in Love.”
Glam band Dokken sold more than 10 million records worldwide and received a nomination for a Grammy Award. “Breaking the Chains,” “Dream Warriors” and “Into the Fire” are among the group’s biggest hits.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, Aug. 7, and start at $40.
