Mad as Hell in Heavenly La Conchita
I have finally had it with your articles on our town of La Conchita.
When writing about the massive slide that occurred in March, your Dec. 31 article wrapping up news in 1995 refers to us as “that funky beach community.” For your information, we’re sitting here as a disaster area. Homes once worth $300,000 are now buried, and the rest are worth zero.
We have people from all walks of life here--teachers, artists, retired Lockheed personnel, people from the movie industry, veterans and, yes, our surfers. We’re proud of each one. Come sit on our balconies and see the beautiful Pacific Ocean and the sunsets.
Do you call that funky? I call it heaven.
